Mayfield (News First) – On Friday, April 26th at approximately 2:35 p.m., Mayfield Police Department officers were dispatched to the intersection of North 7th Street and East James Street following a vehicle collision involving injuries.

During the investigation, authorities determined that 24-year-old Zion Currin, a resident of Mayfield, was driving a 2014 Nissan sedan with 32-year-old Courtney Nichols, from Murray, also in the vehicle. Currin was traveling east on East James Street approaching North 7th Street when the incident occurred.

According to officials, Currin attempted to cross East James Street when the Nissan collided with a 2021 Toyota sedan traveling north on North 7th Street. The Toyota was driven by 45-year-old Erin Stricklin.

Emergency medical services from Mayfield responded to the scene to provide assistance. Currin and Nichols declined medical treatment, while Stricklin was transported to Baptist Health for treatment of her injuries.
