PADUCAH (News First) – In an incident occurring on 04/26/2024 at approximately 3:18 P.M., a deputy with the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop in the ROSS parking lot of the Kentucky Oaks Mall.

The vehicle was being operated by Kathie King of Paducah. Upon further investigation, it was revealed that the rear passenger of the vehicle was identified as Daniel Cooney, who had two outstanding warrants for his arrest.

Cooney was instructed to exit the vehicle and subsequently arrested. Deputies then discovered suspected methamphetamine in the vicinity where Cooney was seated. Cooney was transported to McCracken County Regional Jail and lodged.

Cooney’s Charges:

  • Possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine).

King’s Charges:

  • Improper signal.
  • Failure to produce insurance card.
  • Obstructed vision/windshield.
