Closure planned for weekend to avoid school traffic disruptions
PADUCAH, Ky. (April 30, 2024) – A contractor for the City of Clinton plans to close a section of KY 123/East Clay Street in Clinton the weekend of May 3, 2024.
Rogers Utility Solutions has been working along KY 123 in the 400 Block of East Clay Street near the Barclay Street intersection to install new water lines. Weather-permitting, the contractor plans to pour concrete to replace pavement in excavated areas starting May 3.

- 328 E.Clay at the bridge
- 332 E. Clay at Barclay St
- 412 E. Clay across from the school
To allow concrete used for the pavement repairs to properly cure, KY 123/East Clay Street will remain closed until 6 a.m., CDT, on Monday, May 6.
The contractor is also framing up forms for the sidewalks to be poured between 328 E. Clay Street and Cunningham Street this week. The Contractor has contacted homeowners about individual access while the concrete is allowed to cure.
There will be no marked detour. However, motorists may detour along KY 1745/James Phillips Drive/North College Street.
