Ramps to close for paving from 3 a.m., to Noon, Saturday

PADUCAH, Ky. (May 1, 2024)  A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) plans to Close ramps at the I-24/KY 453 Grand Rivers Exit 31 interchange on Saturday morning, May 4, 2024.

Ramps at I-24 Exit 31 will be closed from approximately 3 a.m., to about Noon, on Saturday, to allow milling and paving along the ramps.  The contractor plans to start on the westbound exit and entry ramps, then move to the eastbound ramps.  To allow the pavement to cure the ramps will remain closed until about Noon, Saturday.

During the ramp closure, message boards will be set up direct motorists seeking to use Exit 31 to self-detour to the I-24/U.S. 62 Eddyville-Kuttawa Exit 40 interchange or the I-24/U.S. 62 Calvert City Exit 27 interchange.

This is part of a larger paving project along Interstate 24 from the 29 to 33 mile marker in Livingston County.  Motorists should be alert for milling and paving along this section of I-24 until about August 1.

Please note that these ramp closures should have no impact on eastbound or westbound traffic traveling the main line of Interstate 24 in the work zone.  KY 453 will remain open through the interchange.

KYTC District 1 will attempt to provide timely notice should the Exit 31 ramps reopen earlier than expected.
