Traffic signal work to create restriction
PADUCAH, Ky. (May 1, 2024) – A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans a northbound work zone lane restriction along U.S. 45/Lone Oak Road in the Lone Oak area of McCracken County on Thursday, May 2, 2024.
This lane restriction for northbound traffic along U.S. 45/Lone Oak Road at mile point 7.141 at the new intersection with KY 1286/North Friendship Road and Lakeview Drive is to allow a sub-contractor to install a new traffic signal. The worksite is immediately in front of Kentucky Fried Chicken.
The contractor has been able to work this week with bucket trucks in the turn lanes. The work has reached a point where a northbound lane restriction will be required between 8 a.m., and 2 p.m., CDT, on Thursday.
The existing traffic signal will continue to control traffic flow until the new signal becomes operational.
Motorists should use appropriate caution as the signal crew will be using bucket trucks to work in the intersection in close proximity to traffic flow.
The contractor and KYTC District 1 will attempt to provide timely updates as installation of the new signal progresses.
