Joshua R. Goines,41, Grand Chain, IL was arrested at 19th and Simmons. Goines was

Wanted on a warrant. The warrant was issued by Massac County for possession of Methamphetamine. A search revealed that Goines was in possession of Methamphetamine. Goines was charged and lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.

April 14, 2024

At 11:51 pm, A Metropolis Officer attempted to stop a bicycle near 3rd and Girard after it came out of the alley and did not have a headlight illuminated. When the officer tried to stop the bicycle, the rider ignored commands and attempted to flee. After a short chase the offender identified as Marcellous D. Foster,46, Murray, KY attempted to hide behind the Humma apartments. A search found Methamphetamine as well as drug paraphernalia, and a controlled substance. (Xanax). Foster was charged with Possession of a controlled substance, possession of Methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, resisting arrest and no headlight on bicycle when required. He was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.

April 15,2024

At 1:29 am, A Metropolis officer observed Gregory R. Dinkins Jr,33, Karnak walking in the roadway on E. 10th and Girard. The officer stopped him and advised him to use the sidewalk so he would not be run over. A computer check revealed that Dinkins was wanted on a warrant. The warrant was issued by Massac County for FTA- DUI. The officer advised Dinkins he was under arrest and Dinkins attempted to flee. After a short chase a Taser was deployed by the officer as well as a Massac County Deputy who responded to assist. Dinkins was taken into custody. He was charged with the warrant, resisting arrest and walking in the roadway. He was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.

April 16, 2024

A Metropolis Officer arrested Jerry Thoe,37, Karnak on 12th and Filmore. Thoe was wanted on a warrant. The warrant was issued by Massac County for FTA-Possession of Methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Thoe was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.

April 17, 2024

A Metropolis Officer stopped a vehicle on US 45 near 12th St for speeding. The driver, DeAngelo S. Brown,36, Mayfield, KY advised that he did not have a drivers license. A computer check confirmed this. Brown could not provide proof of insurance. Brown was charged with no valid DL and operation of an uninsured motor vehicle. He was released on a notice to appear.

On 3 separate occasions on April 17th, Metropolis Officers were called to a residence in the 600 block of E. 10th for a trespassing complaint. Amada J. Jennings, 39, Metropolis kept coming onto the property after being previously trespassed. Each time she was charged and released on a notice to appear. On the third offense, Jenning’s parole officer was at the residence talking to the victims when Jennings again was observed looking into the window. This time, Jennings was charged and lodged in the Massac County Detention Center after conferring with the State’s Attorney.

April 18,2024

A Metropolis Officer attempted to arrest Koby S. Smith,21, Belknap in the alley behind Casey’s General Store, due to a warrant being issued for his arrest. Smith fled on foot. Smith gave up running a few blocks later. The warrant was issued by Massac County for FTA on a petition to revoke probation on a theft charge. Smith was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.

April 19,2024

A Metropolis officer observed Darrell A. McCoy,61, Metropolis in the 1700 block of McCrary St. The officer was aware that there was a warrant issued for his arrest. The warrant was issued by Massac County for FTA- Criminal Trespass to state supported property. He was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.

April 20,2024

A Metropolis Officer observed Craig T. Lindsey,39, Metropolis outside a residence in the 1200 block of Baynes. The officer was aware that Lindsey was wanted on a warrant. The warrant was issued by Massac County for FTA-Domestic Battery. Lindsey was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.

April 25, 2024

Metropolis dispatch received a call from the Cape Girardeau Police Task Force requesting assistance in locating and arresting Corrina M. Meyers,44, Metropolis. They advised that she had a warrant issued for Possession of a controlled substance and theft. A Metropolis Officer observed her getting out of vehicle in the 700 block of E. 6th St. She was arrested without incident and lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.

April 28, 2024

Metropolis Officers were called to the area of 4th and Metropolis Street for a domestic disturbance. The victim stated that she had gotten into an argument with her husband and she was struck in the back of the head and face. The caller/witness advised that they observed the offender, William T. Brown,35, Cadiz, KY yell at the victim and pull her into a vehicle. Brown was arrested and charged with Domestic Battery and Disorderly Conduct. He was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.

A Metropolis Officer observed Paige A. Gelso,22, Metropolis at the Spence Apartments. The officer was aware that she was wanted on a warrant. The warrant was issued by Jefferson County, IL for FTA- Driving while license revoked. Gelso was arrested and lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.

A Metropolis Officer stopped a vehicle for speeding 54 mph in a posted 35 mph zone at 5th and Yasoda St. The vehicle was also observed to be weaving and finally stopped on 5th near Pullen. Upon speaking with the driver, Paul E. Huffins,45, Kuttawa, KY, the officer detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage on Huffin’s breath. Huffin failed the field sobriety tests and was arrested. Huffin was charged with DUI, DUI with a BAC of .08 or more and speeding. He was released on a notice to appear.

Metropolis Officers were called to Harrah’s Casino. Officers met with IGB agents who informed them that they had video of a subject dropping a container our of his pocket that contained suspected contraband. Officers identified the contents as Methamphetamine. Officer reviewed the video and then located the offender still inside the casino. Anthony L Plummer,50, Greenbrier TN, was arrested and charged with possession of Methamphetamine. He was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.

Metropolis Officers were called to a residence in the 500 block of Girard. The caller stated that an unknown male was sitting on the porch. Officers located the person, James D. Bradley,26, Metropolis on the porch. He stated that he had stopped to rest on his way to his mother’s residence. A computer check revealed that he was wanted on warrants. He had two warrants issued by McCracken County for possession for forged instruments and theft by deception. He had a warrant issued by Mayfield KY for fraud. Bradley was arrested and a search found him to be in possession of a loaded syringe with Methamphetamine. Bradley was charged with the warrants and possession of Methamphetamine. He was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.
