On 05/09/2024, Richard Modrell age 52 of Benton KY, was arrested when deputies
responded to a residence on JB Copeland Road in Marshall County in reference to a male
threatening to kill people with a crow bar. Deputies arrived on scene and charged Modrell
with Terroristic threatening 3rd degree, cultivating marijuana 5 plants or more, possession
of drug paraphernalia and menacing.
On 05/11/2024, Chelsea McClain age 34 of Benton KY, was arrested when she was
stopped while operating a motor vehicle on Mullins Lane in Marshall County. McClain had
two children in the vehicle with her when she was operating the vehicle. McClain was
charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence 1st offense and wanton
endangerment (2 counts).
On 05/12/2024, Adam King age 44 of Benton KY, was arrested on a bench warrant issued
out of McCracken County District Court for the charge of contempt of court.
On 05/10/2024, Trad Robertson age 41 of Gilbertsville KY, was arrested when the vehicle
that he was operating was stopped on US 641 in Marshall County. Robertson was charged
with reckless driving, speeding 12 mph over limit and operating a motor vehicle under the
influence of alcohol 1st offense (aggravating circumstances).
On 05/13/2024, Ricky Stevenson age 54 of Calvert City KY, was arrested on a criminal
complaint warrant and charged with violation of KY EPO/DVO.
On 05/14/2024, Kristi Chandler age 42 of Hardin KY, was arrested on a bench warrant
issued out of Marshall Circuit Court for the charge of probation violation.
On 05/14/2024, Recil Morris age 34 of Gilbertsville KY, was arrested on a criminal
complaint warrant charging him with Arson 1st degree and assault 4th degree.
On 05/10/2024, Kelvin Ham age 53 of Benton KY, was arrested when he came in to the
front lobby of the Sheriff’s office and pulled out a firearm that he had concealed in his back
pocket. Subject did not make any statements initially but firearm was quickly removed from
his possession. Mr. Ham appeared to be under the influence and had an active EPO that
had the stipulation that he not possess firearms. Mr. Ham stated that someone had given
him the firearm. Mr. Ham was also charged with Wanton Endangerment 1st degree due to
there being a large group of children on the property on a school trip. Mr. Ham is currently
out on bond for the charges mentioned above.
On 05/16/2024, Melody Vick age 44 Of Benton KY, was arrested on a bench warrant issued out
of Marshall Circuit Court for the charge of Probation Violation.
