PADUCAH, Ky (News First) –

McCracken County Sheriff’s Office investigated a rash of vehicle thefts overnight. At approximately 0330, MCSO deputies noticed a suspicious vehicle in the area of Lakeview Drive in Lone Oak. The vehicle was attempting to illude the deputy, but almost immediately crashed out on Milton Drive. Three suspects were observed fleeing the vehicle on foot. Deputies immediately established a perimeter and began efforts to locate the fleeing suspects. The deputy observed the crashed-out vehicle had the steering column punched out and the ignition was missing. A classic sign of a stolen vehicle.

As additional deputies were responding, 2 additional vehicles were observed with their lights on in an empty lot off of Lakeview Drive. Upon the deputy investigating these vehicles, both vehicles also had their steering columns punched and ignitions removed. Both vehicles also sustained broken windows along with damage to the exterior.

Through investigation it was determined that two vehicles had been stolen from dealerships on Irvin Cobb Drive on Paducah’s Southside and the third from a residence on Denver Avenue in Lone Oak.

Deputies along with the assistance of Paducah Police Department officers continued to search for the fleeing suspects. At approximately 0500 K-9 Oscar while conducting an area search, picked up the trail of one of the suspects. K-9 Oscar tracked the suspect to a wooded area off of Milton Drive where he was detained and transported to the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office.
