Old signal to be removed once new signal is in service

PADUCAH, Ky. (May 10, 2024)   The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans to activate a new traffic signal along U.S. 45/Lone Oak Road in the Lone Oak area of McCracken County on Wednesday night, May 15, 2024.

This traffic signal along U.S. 45/Lone Oak Road at mile point 7.141 at the new intersection with KY 1286/North Friendship Road and Lakeview Drive is expected to go into service around 8 p.m., CDT, Wednesday.  Once the new signal has been placed in service, the old signal heads and support system will be removed.

The existing traffic signal will continue to control traffic flow until the new signal becomes operational.

The new signal includes signal heads specifically for the additional turn lanes that were added to the intersection by construction of the new KY 1286/North Friendship Road connection at Lakeview Drive.

Motorists should be alert for changes in traffic flow activation of the new signal will bring to the intersection.
