MAYFIELD, Ky. — On May 14 at approximately 10:53 p.m., deputies from the Graves County Sheriff’s Office responded to a single-vehicle rollover collision on northbound Interstate 69 at the 21-mile marker.

Ian Henley, 22, of Mayfield, was traveling north on the interstate ramp of I-69 when he left the roadway, entered a ditch, then returned to the northbound lanes and struck the concrete median barrier. The impact caused Henley’s vehicle to overturn multiple times before coming to rest in the emergency lane.

Henley was trapped inside the vehicle but was alert and conscious when deputies arrived. He was transported to Jackson Purchase Medical Center and later transferred to Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee, due to the severity of his injuries.

Investigators determined that Henley was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the collision. He has been charged with DUI first offense.

Deputy Austin Caldwell led the collision investigation, while Deputy Peyton Jackson handled the DUI investigation. They were assisted by Deputy Tony Cornwell, Deputy Garret Clark, Mayfield-Graves County EMS, Mayfield-Graves County Rescue Squad, and the Mayfield Fire Department.
