MCCRACKEN COUNTY, Ky. — Authorities are urging residents to be vigilant as a scam targeting McCracken County residents continues to spread. This week alone, five individuals fell victim to the “missed court” scam, losing amounts ranging from $2,000 to $12,000, totaling $26,000. Scammers are directing victims to use the Bitcoin machine at the Kroger on Park Ave.

The scammers falsely claim to be from the county office, using names of actual personnel and spoofing phone numbers to appear legitimate. Officials emphasize that they will never request payments via Bitcoin machines, gift cards, or any similar method to resolve warrants.

Residents are encouraged to share this information with family and friends to prevent further incidents.
