MCCRACKEN COUNTY, Ky (News First) . – The McCracken County Sheriff’s Office responded to a vehicle vs. motorcycle collision at the intersection of Kentucky Dam Road (US 62) and Eagles Nest Drive on Thursday.
The investigation revealed that Gordon Smith, 63, of Kuttawa, Kentucky, was operating a 2007 Harley-Davidson motorcycle eastbound on Kentucky Dam Road. Benny Green, 70, of Paducah, Kentucky, was driving a 2012 Buick Enclave and was crossing over Kentucky Dam Road from Eagles Nest Drive.
The motorcycle collided broadside with the Buick in the eastbound lanes of Kentucky Dam Road.
Smith was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced deceased. Green was transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-incapacitating injuries.
The Reidland-Farley Fire Department, Mercy Regional Ambulance, McCracken County DES, McCracken County Coroner’s Office, and Harper’s Towing assisted at the scene.
