MCCRACKEN COUNTY, Ky. (News First) — The McCracken County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Paducah man Wednesday evening following a drug investigation.
On May 28, detectives and deputies attempted to stop a vehicle on Kentucky Dam Road as part of a drug investigation. Detectives had observed the driver picking up a package suspected to contain illegal drugs. The driver fled briefly and swerved at deputies before stopping in the 6000 block of Kentucky Dam Road.
While deputies were arresting the driver, his vehicle rolled forward and struck a Sheriff’s Office vehicle. The driver was identified as David Darnell, 23, of Paducah. Detectives found several Xanax pills on Darnell and approximately three pounds of marijuana in the vehicle.
Darnell was arrested and lodged in the McCracken County Regional Jail. The investigation is ongoing, and more arrests are expected.

- Wanton endangerment (first degree)
