MAYFIELD, Ky. (News First) — At approximately 9:10 p.m., Deputy Austin Caldwell conducted a traffic stop on Paris Road after observing traffic offenses on KY 303, just south of Mayfield. The driver, identified as Mason Courtney, 43, of Clinton, Ky., was determined to be under the influence and was arrested for DUI.
During the arrest, deputies discovered two clear baggies containing methamphetamine, one of which Courtney attempted to discard. Courtney faces charges of DUI 2nd Offense, Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st Degree, 2nd Offense-Methamphetamine, along with other traffic violations.
Deputy Caldwell was assisted by Deputy Tony Cornwell and Deputy Garret Clark.
