PADUCAH, Ky. — A Hopkinsville man was arrested late Friday night for stabbing a local man during an altercation.

Paducah police officers responded to the 1600 block of Bloom Avenue for a report of a stabbing. Officers located the victim at a local hospital, where he was receiving treatment for non-life-threatening injuries. The victim told detectives that he was in an argument with John E. Parker, 40, of Hopkinsville, Ky., when Parker stabbed him.

Parker was found in the area of the incident and was in possession of a knife. He confirmed he was at the victim’s house and admitted to stabbing the victim during the altercation.

Parker was arrested on a charge of assault, 1st degree, and lodged in the McCracken County Jail.
