PADUCAH, Ky. (News First) — At approximately 4:50 a.m. on June 1, deputies responded to a single-vehicle collision at the 30-mile marker northbound on US-45 North.
Upon arrival, authorities determined that Mario Johnson, 35, of West Paducah, was traveling northbound on US-45 when he lost control of his vehicle. The car veered off the left side of the roadway and struck a guardrail before crossing the northbound lanes and colliding with a concrete barrier on the right side.
Further investigation revealed Johnson was under the influence while operating the vehicle. He was transported to Lourdes Hospital in Paducah, Ky., where he was treated for minor injuries.
Deputy Caldwell charged Johnson with DUI and first-degree criminal mischief. Deputy Garret Clark investigated the collision with assistance from Mayfield/Graves EMS and the Melber Fire Department.
