SYMSOINA, Ky. (News First) – At approximately 5:08 p.m., the Graves County Sheriff’s Office responded to a motorcycle collision with injuries at 1531 KY 534, just south of Symsonia near the Marshall County line.

Charles Blake Smith, 22, of Mayfield, was riding a 2006 Harley Davidson northbound on KY 534 when he lost control of the motorcycle in a curve. The motorcycle slid onto its side, crossed the center lane, exited the roadway, and collided with a tree. Smith was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

Smith was transported by Marshall County EMS to Symsonia Elementary School, where he was flown by Air Evac to Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee, due to the severity of his injuries.

Deputy Chad Hall investigated the collision with assistance from Deputy John Cavin, the Kentucky State Police, Mayfield/Graves County EMS, Marshall County EMS, the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office, and the Symsonia Fire Department.
