PADUCAH, Ky. (News First) – Five individuals have been arrested on various drug trafficking charges following several investigations by the Paducah Police Department’s Drug Unit.

Johnny Dewayne Thomas, 43, of Bowling Green, was arrested on an indictment warrant for first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (cocaine; second or greater offense). Martigo Richod Matchem, 34, of Farwood Drive, was arrested on indictment warrants for two counts of trafficking in a controlled substance (carfentanil or fentanyl derivatives). Otis D. McKinney, 28, of Trimble Street, was arrested on an indictment warrant for first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (cocaine; second or greater offense). Jose Montrell Harmon, 37, of Parkside Drive, was arrested on indictment warrants for two counts of trafficking in synthetic drugs (first offense). Larena S. Cleary, 35, of Cruse Avenue, was arrested on indictment warrants for two counts of first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (cocaine; second or greater offense).

The investigations, which began weeks ago, resulted in the Drug Unit seeking indictments from the McCracken County grand jury in May. With the assistance of uniformed officers, detectives began making arrests late Thursday morning. The final suspect was apprehended at around 2:15 a.m. Saturday. All five suspects were booked into the McCracken County Regional Jail.
