Work to take about two weeks to complete

PADUCAH, Ky. (June 14, 2024)  A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) plans a work zone for milling and paving along a section of KY 121 in northwestern Calloway County starting Saturday, June 15, 2024.

This work to enhance safety and connectivity along KY 121 North (Murray-Farmington Road) runs from the 14-mile marker at the U.S. 641 (North 12th Street) intersection in Murray, extending northward along KY 121 to near the 24-mile marker at the Calloway-Graves County Line, a distance of just over 10 miles.

Milling is expected on Saturday and Monday, with paving expected to begin on Tuesday.

Motorists should be alert for one-lane traffic with alternating flow controlled by flaggers during daylight hours.  Some delays are possible during the movement and placement of equipment to facilitate the work.

Appropriate caution is required where equipment, flaggers, and construction personnel are along the roadway in close proximity to traffic flow.

Jim Smith Contracting of Grand Rivers is the prime contractor on this $1,039,425 highway improvement project.  Weather-permitting, the target completion date is July 2, 2024.
