PADUCAH, Ky. (June 20, 2024)  U.S. 60 (Sturgis Road) is open at the east edge of Marion in Crittenden County at this time.  However, the roadway may have to be closed for a short period in the next two hours to remove a SEMI that crashed overnight.

The crash took out a utility pole at the 10.8 mile marker near the Rush Creek Bridge and Adam Street at the Marion City Limits.

The KYTC Crittenden County Highway Maintenance Crew was able to maintain traffic with alternating flow controlled by flaggers until a recovery crew arrived on site.  The wrecker crew was able to work from off the roadway to do their recovery prep work, allowing the roadway to open to 2-way traffic.

At this time, the recovery crew plans a short closure in the next few hours to allow the truck to be removed.  

A crew from Kentucky Utilities was able to complete their work to replace the damaged the utility pole.
