On 06/28/2024, Mayfield Police Department Officers received information of a male and female trespassing in a residence. Officers also received information of illegal drugs being used by the squatters. Officers went to the residence, and made contact with Jeffrey King, age 42 of Boaz, KY and Jodi Compau, age 31 of Mayfield. Officers conducted a sweep of the residence, on the request of the owner, to make sure nobody else was inside. During the protective sweep of the residence, evidence of illegal drugs were observed. Officers secured the residence and all subjects involved. A search warrant was sought, and later executed on the residence. Jeffrey King was placed under arrest, and charged with Burglary 2nd Degree, Unauthorized Use of Motor Vehicle- 1st Offense, Operating on Suspended or Revoked Operator’s License, Failure of Non-Owner Operator to Maintain Required Insurance/ Securities- 1st Offense, Possession Controlled Substance 1st Degree, 3rd or Greater Offense (Methamphetamine) and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Jodi Compau was placed under arrest, and charged with Burglary 2nd Degree, Possession Controlled Substance 1st Degree, 2nd Offense (Methamphetamine) and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Jeffrey King and Jodi Compau were transported to the Graves County Restricted Custody Center, and turned over to the Graves County Jail. Jeffrey King was lodged in Calloway County, and Jodi Compau was lodged in Marshall County.
On 06/27/2024, Mayfield Police Department Officers responded to the area of a local restaurant on a report of an intoxicated male riding a bicycle. Officers located Darryl Loggins, age 57 of Mayfield. Loggins was placed under arrest, and charged with Operating Non-Motor Vehicle Under Influence of Intoxicants. Loggins was transported to the Graves County Restricted Custody Center, and was turned over to the Graves County Jail for transport to Calloway County.
On June 27 at 08:53 am, Mayfield Police Department Officers responded to the intersection of Backusburg Road and the Dick Castleman Bypass for a vehicle collision involving injury. When Officers arrived on scene, both vehicles were observed on the Bypass with substantial damage. Through investigation and witness statements, it was determined that Gracie Litchfield, age 62 of Murray, was traveling West on KY 464/Backusburg Road operating a 2012 GMC Acadia. Also in the vehicle with Litchfield were Angie Kuhr, age 56 of Mayfield, and Roger Henson, age 38 of Mayfield. Approaching the Dick Castleman Bypass, Litchfield failed to come to a complete stop at the intersection. Litchfield then collided with a 2021 Mazda CX-5 that was being operated by Carla Williams, age 57 of Mayfield. Mayfield Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene, and assisted with medical needs of the vehicle occupants. Local towing services were contacted, and removed both vehicles from the roadway.
On 06/27/2024, the Mayfield Police Department arrested Charles Wilcox, age 66 of Mayfield, on an arrest warrant. Wilcox turned himself in at the Graves County Restricted Custody Center on the charge of Probation Violation (For Felony Offense.)
On 06/26/2024, a Mayfield Police Department Officer served an arrest warrant on David Ross, age 61 of Mayfield. Ross was placed under arrest, and charged with Bail Jumping 2nd Degree. Ross was transported to the Graves County Restricted Custody Center, and turned over to the Graves County Jail for transport to Marshall County.
On June 22, 2024, the Mayfield Police Department arrested 61-year-old James Stevens of Mayfield after he was found in the presence of the victim of a case in which he was criminally charged. Stevens had been ordered in his pre-trial release in that case to have no contact or communication with the victim. Stevens was charged with Violation of Conditions of Release, and lodged in an out of county jail.
On the morning of Saturday, June 22nd, Officers with the Mayfield Police Department responded to an address on Hillside Drive for a burglary in progress. The caller stated a man had forced his way inside her home, and had armed himself with a knife. The caller stated that she had armed herself with a handgun, and that the man then laid the knife down. Officers arrived, and took 23-year-old Damion Siddell into custody. Siddell was manifestly under the influence of an illegal substance. Siddell was transported to Jackson Purchase Medical Center for medical clearance due to his level of intoxication. At the hospital, Siddell attempted to resist Officers, and to get away. Siddell was restrained, and transported to the Graves County Restricted Custody Center. At the RC Center, as Deputy Jailers and a Mayfield Police Officer were moving Siddell from a Mayfield Police cruiser to a Graves County Jail transport vehicle, Siddell again lashed out, attempting to resist and flee. A Graves County Deputy Jailer was assaulted by Siddell, and the Graves County Jail transport vehicle was damaged, also by Siddell. The Deputy Jailer was treated on the scene by Mayfield Fire and EMS. Siddell was lodged in the McCracken County Jail, charged with:
- Burglary 1st Degree
- Public Intoxication on a Controlled Substance
- Two counts of Resisting Arrest
- Disorderly Conduct 2nd Degree
- Assault 3rd Degree – Inmate Assault on Corrections Employee
- Criminal Mischief 2nd Degree
- Criminal Mischief 3rd Degree
Mayfield Police Department was assisted by the Graves County Jail, Graves County Sheriff’s Office, and McCracken County Sheriff’s Office.
On June 21st at approximately 1:23 pm, a traffic stop was conducted for disregarding the stop sign located at the intersection of South 1st Street and Douthitt Street. During the investigation, Courtney Amacher, age 26 of Bardwell, was located in the front passenger seat of the vehicle. Amacher’s information was given to Kentucky State Police Dispatch, which advised that Amacher had an active arrest warrant out of Lyon County. Amacher was taken into custody, and transported to the Graves County Restricted Custody Center for booking. Amacher is charged with a Bench Warrant out of Lyon County for Contempt of Court.
