Debris clearing work to take about two days to complete
PADUCAH, Ky. (News First)) – A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) plans a work zone lane restriction along a section of KY 125 (Union City Highway) south of the KY 166 (Middle Road) intersection starting Wednesday, July 3, 2024.
This daytime lane restriction along KY 125 (Union City Highway) runs from mile point 0.0 at the Kentucky-Tennessee State Line, extending northward to the KY 166 (Middle Road) intersection at mile point 1.65.
The contractor and the KYTC Fulton County Highway Maintenance Crew will be removing storm debris along the right-of-way. This work zone will be active from about 7 a.m., to about 5 p.m., CDT, each day.
Motorists should be alert for one lane traffic with alternating flow controlled by flaggers. Some delays are possible during the movement and placement of equipment to facilitate the work.
KY 125 connects with TN Route 5 at the state line. Approximately 2,100 vehicles travel this section of KY 125 in an average day.
Appropriate caution is required where equipment, flaggers, and maintenance personnel are along the roadway in close proximity to traffic flow.
The work is expected to take about two days to complete.
