On July 15, 2024 Robert Lima was arrested on an indictment warrant that was issued in May 2024 by the Calloway County Circuit Court. At the time of his arrest he was out on bond from similar charges in Marshall County earlier this year. Lima was lodged at the Calloway County Detention Facility.

On July 13, 2024 at approximately 10:30pm deputies responded to a disturbance near Irvin Cobb Road. Bobby Etheridge is believed to be in possession of a stolen firearm that he threatened others with during a physical altercation. He was lodged at the Calloway County Detention Center. There were no injuries during the altercation.

On July 3rd, 2024 11:00 a.m., deputies conducted a traffic stop on S. 12th Street in Murray. The driver, identified as Mandy Swain, 43, of Murray, was found to be in possession of illicit drugs. She was lodged at the Calloway County Detention Facility.

Swain faces multiple charges, including:

  • Possession of a Controlled Substance, 1st Degree, 1st Offense – Methamphetamine (Class D felony)
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance, 1st Degree, 1st Offense – LSD (Class D felony)
  • Possession of Marijuana
  • Driving Offenses

July 8th, 2024 – The Calloway County and Marshall County Sheriff’s Offices arrested 10 individuals over the Fourth of July holiday weekend following a months-long drug investigation.

Narcotic detectives conducted several search warrants at numerous residences and made several undercover controlled drug purchases in Calloway County. This resulted in the seizure of over 1.14 pounds of crystal methamphetamine packaged and ready for sale, 4.5 pounds of marijuana, a half-pound of psilocybin mushrooms, ecstasy, anabolic steroids, and numerous scheduled narcotics, including hydrocodone, oxycodone, Xanax, and various other prescription-only pills. Detectives also recovered four different handguns, one of which was reported stolen out of Tennessee.

All 10 individuals were arrested and lodged at the Calloway County Detention Center. The individuals and their charges are as follows:

  • Andrew S. Heckathorn, 32, of Murray, Ky.: Possession of methamphetamine
  • Travis N. Ashley, 44, of Murray, Ky.: Possession of methamphetamine (firearm enhanced), receiving stolen property (firearm)
  • Victoria J. Overman, 34, of Paducah, Ky.: Possession of marijuana, possession of ecstasy
  • John W. Cloud, 50, of Murray, Ky.: Conspiracy to trafficking methamphetamine
  • Michael W. Murphy, 61, of Murray, Ky.: Conspiracy to trafficking methamphetamine
  • Chad M. Bowers, 47, of Murray, Ky.: Conspiracy to trafficking methamphetamine
  • Darren L. Brandon, 48, of Murray, Ky.: Conspiracy to trafficking methamphetamine
  • Patricia S. Jones, 53, of Murray, Ky.: Conspiracy to trafficking methamphetamine over two grams
  • Karen R. Ashley, 47, of Murray, Ky.: Trafficking marijuana (firearm enhanced), trafficking methamphetamine (firearm enhanced), trafficking anabolic steroids (firearm enhanced), trafficking hallucinogens (firearm enhanced), trafficking legend drugs (firearm enhanced), trafficking Xanax (firearm enhanced), trafficking oxycodone (firearm enhanced), trafficking hydrocodone (firearm enhanced), possession of drug paraphernalia, receiving stolen property (firearm), possession of a handgun by a convicted felon
