Closure to start at 9 a.m., for about 2 hours
PADUCAH, Ky. (July 15, 2024) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans to close a section of Interstate 24 westbound in Lyon County starting promptly at 9 a.m., CDT, Tuesday, July 16, 2024.
This westbound closure on I-24 near the 42 mile marker is to allow Kentucky State Police to complete a reconstruction investigation at the site of a two-vehicle crash on July 8.
This westbound detour for I-24 traffic is expected to be in place for about 2 hours.
I-24 westbound traffic will be detoured off at the KY 293 Princeton-Eddyville Exit 45 interchange to follow KY 93 North into Eddyville, then follow U.S. 62 West to return to I-24 at the U.S. 62 Eddyville-Kuttawa Exit 40 interchange.
Motorists should use appropriate caution along the detour.
KYTC District 1 will attempt to provide timely notice should the reconstruction investigation be completed earlier than expected.
There should be no impact to eastbound traffic at this site.
