Traffic is back to normal on Interstate 55 in both directions near Highway M in Barnhart in Jefferson County following a median crash involving a tractor-trailer and a sedan earlier this morning. An unknown semi-driver changed lanes when the trailer he was hauling struck a Hyundai Sonata driven by 22-year-old Brock Rector of Festus, causing Rector’s vehicle to hit the cable median barrier. Rector was taken to a nearby hospital with minor injuries. His vehicle was totaled. The semi-trailer continued Northbound, leaving the scene. It’s unclear if that driver is being sought after at this time.
