UPDATE
CADIZ, Ky. (July 24, 2024) – Kentucky State Police (KSP) Post 1 has continued the investigation into a shooting that occurred in Trigg County on July 20, 2024.
The deceased has been identified as Austin Gardner, 25, of Cadiz, who entered the residence of Cody Parker, 21, of Cadiz.

CADIZ, Ky. (July 20, 2024) – Kentucky State Police (KSP) Post 1 was notified shortly after midnight of a shooting incident at a residence in Trigg County. KSP was requested by the Trigg County Sheriff’s Office to investigate the incident.
Preliminary investigation revealed that a male subject entered a residence on Linda Lane, armed with a weapon. Upon forcing his way into a room in the residence, the male was shot by the homeowner. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
This has been determined to be an isolated incident, and there is not believed to be any danger to the public related to this incident.
