On 09/02/2024, Keith Kraft (44) of Hardin KY, was arrested served a criminal complaint warrant for the charge of assault 4th degree.
On 08/30/2024, Claude Johnson Jr (27) of Paducah KY, was arrested for the charge of Assault 1st degree following an investigation into a male that had arrived at a local hospital with a severe laceration to his head. This investigation is ongoing.
On 08/31/2024, Derek Darnall (38) of Gilbertsville KY, was arrested and charged with burglary 1st degree, strangulation 1st degree, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct 2nd degree, Assault 3rd degree, terroristic threatening and alcohol intoxication in a public place. K-9 Drax assisted deputies take Darnall into custody.
On 09/02/2024, Nickolas Stroud (29) of Benton KY, was arrested on an indictment warrant issued out of Marshall Circuit Court for the charges of procuring/promoting use of a minor by electronic means, unlawful transaction with a minor 1st degree, unlawful transaction with a minor 2nd degree andunlawful transaction with a minor 3rd degree. After Stroud was arrested, a search warrant was executed on his residence for other evidence. During the search deputies located marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
On 08/24/2024, Brandon Powell (36) of Murray KY, was arrested when deputies responded to a single vehicle collision on Benton Birmingham Rd. Mr. Powell was operating a motorcycle and left the roadway. Mr. Powell was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and no insurance.
On 08/24/2024, Ashley Tharp (43) of Benton KY, was arrested and served a bench warrant issued by Lincoln Circuit Court for the charge of Failure to pay child support.
On 08/24/2024, Charles Short (72) of Paducah KY, was arrested on a warrant issued by Marshall District Court at the request of the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office. Mr. Short was charged with Voyeurism (attempted) and tampering with physical evidence. These charges stem from an investigation where Mr. Short was caught hiding a video recording device at the residence of another person. This is investigation is still ongoing.
On 08/22/2024 at approximately 11pm, Marshall County Special Response Team (SRT) was actived at the request for assistance from the Murray Police Department. Murray Police had obtained an arrest warrant on a male who had brandished a firearm and then barracaded himself in a residence. When SRT arrived at the residence, the male subject fired on members of the SRT striking one member of the SRT mulitple times. SRT returned fire on the male. The male was flown out for treatment of his injuries. The injured officer was taken to an area hospital to be treated for his injuries and has since been released. Officers of the SRT who were involved in the shooting will be placed on administrative leave in accordance with policy. As per policy, the Kentucky State Police was called to investigate the shooting incident. Our agency will not be releasing any further details at this time to protect the integrity of the investigation. All requests for information should be made to the Ky State Police Post 1 public information officer.

On 08/23/2024, John Gordon (58) of Paducah KY, was arrested on a bench warrant issued out of Marshall circuit court for the charged of failure to appear.
On 08/22/2024, Christopher Johnson (40) of Benton KY, was arrested and charged with strangulation 2nd degree, unlawful imprisonment 2nd degree and assault 4th degree.
On 08/21/2024, Cody Hina (30) of Paducah KY, was arrested on a criminal complaint warrant issued out of Marshall District Court for the charge of driving on a dui suspended license.
On 08/21/2024, Ritchie Lang (61) of Hardin KY, was arrested on a bench warrant issued out of Calloway District Court for the charge of failure to appear.
On 08/21/2024, Dylan Agin (19) of Benton KY, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and possession of drug paraphernalia.
On August 21, 2024, deputies executed search warrants at two residences on Thorn Road in Marshall County. Deputies located Fentanyl, methamphetamine, a gun and drug paraphernalia. Deputies arrested 4 subjects listed below for the charges listed.

On 08/20/2024, Matthew Hafner (39) of Calvert City KY, was arrested on a bench warrant issued out of Marshall Circuit Court for the charge of Failure to appear.
On 08/21/2024, Rosanna Miller (55) of Murray KY, was arrested on a bench warrant issued out of Calloway District court for the charge of failure to pay court costs.
On 08/21/2024, Karly Scott (42) of Salem KY, was arrested on a bench warrant issued out of Graves Circuit court for the charge of failure to pay restitution.
On 08/20/2024, James Hardy (38) of Gilbertsville KY, was arrested at his residence for an outstanding warrant issued out of Marshall Circuit Court for the charge of failure to appear in court. During the arrest deputies discovered a quantity of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia on Mr. Hardy. Mr. Hardy was charged with Possession of a controlled substance 1st degree (methamphetamine), possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting arrest.
On 08/19/2024, William Morris (40) of unknown address, was arrested when deputies were called to a residence on Jonathan Shores Rd due to an unwanted subject at the residence. Deputies located Mr. Morris and discovered that Mr. Morris had outstanding warrants for his arrest. Mr. Morris was arrested on two failure to appear warrants, one out of IL and the other from McCracken District Court. When arrested deputies located a methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia on Mr. Morris person. Mr. Morris was charged with failure to appear, fugitive from justice, possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and possession of drug paraphernalia.
On 08/18/2024, Cesar Montero (49) of Unknown address, was arrested and charged with being a fugitive from justice out of Sumner Co TN. Mr. Montero was also served an indictment warrant charging him with criminal possession of a forged instrument 2nd degree and theft by deception $1000<$10,000.
On 08/18/2024, Timothy Haskins (55) of Daytona Beach FL, was arrested and served a bench warrant issued out of Lyon County district court for the charge of contempt of court.
On 08/19/2024, Jemya Pore (25) of St Louis MO, for arrested due to having an outstanding warrant issued out of Massac County IL. Pore was charge with being a fugitive from justice.
On 08/15/2024, Joshua O’Connor (43) of Cunningham TN, was arrested when deputies were requested to respond to a report of an assault. Deputies located Mr. O’Connor and charged him with strangulation 1st degree, resisting arrest and assault 4th degree.
On 08/14/2024, Mari Smith (22) of Calvert City KY, was arrested on an indictment warrant issued out of McCracken Circuit court for the charges of trafficking in a controlled substance 1st (Fentanyl) and possession of drug paraphernalia.
On 08/14/2024, Steven Vancamp (62) of Benton KY, was arrested on a criminal complaint warrant issued Marshall District Court for the charge of criminal trespassing 2nd degree. While deputies were attempting to serve the warrant on Mr. Vancamp, Mr. Vancamp pulled away from deputies and pulled a loaded pistol out of his pocket. Mr. Vancamp then threw the loaded firearm into a truck bed, posing a substantial risk of a discharge. Mr. Vancamp was charged additionally with 3 counts of wanton endangerment 1st degree and resisting arrest.
On 8/15/2024, Quinton Mouser (20) of Gilbertsville KY, was arrested on a bench warrant issued out of Marshall Circuit Court for the charge of failure to appear in court.
On 08/14/2024, deputies stopped a vehicle on I-24 in Marshall County for traffic offenses. During the stop deputies located narcotics and fake identification documents. The operator of the vehicle was a Ivan Capetillo Ochoa (26) of Nashville TN, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance 1st degree (cocaine), criminal possession of a forged instrument 1st degree, giving officer false identifying information, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of open alcoholic beverages in motor vehicle, no insurance, no operator’s license and speeding. A passenger in the vehicle, Cesar Escobar Montero (49) of Nashville TN, was arrested and charged with giving officer false identifying information and criminal possession of a forged instrument 1st degree. A second passenger in the vehicle, Alejandro Escobar Moran (20) of Nashville TN, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance 1st degree (cocaine) and possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia. The three males were lodged in the Marshall County Detention Center
On 08/11/2024, Jaycub M. Smock (22) of Gilbertsville KY, was arrested when the vehicle he was operating was stopped on Champion Drive in Marshall County. Mr. Smock was charged with possession of a controlled substance 1st offense (methamphetamine) and possession of drug paraphernalia. A passenger in the vehicle, Jade Sharp (25) of Benton KY, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance 1st degree (methamphetamine) and possession of drug paraphernalia.
On 08/10/2024, Randy J. Campbell (52) of Calvert City, was arrested on a criminal complaint warrant issued out of Marshall District Court for the charge of Assault 4th degree.
On 08/12/2024, deputies stopped a vehicle being operated by a Sydney Gutierrez (27) of Deland IL. Vehicle was stopped on Truck Plaza Drive in Calvert City. Ms. Gutierrez was arrested and charged with no insurance, possession of a controlled substance 1st degree (methamphetamine), possession of drug paraphernalia, illegal possession of a legend drug and other traffic offense. The passenger in the vehicle, Stephen Newton 34 of Benton KY, was charged with possession of a controlled substance 3rd degree.
On 08/10/2024, Joseph Novotny (47) of Springfield TN, was arrested when deputies were called to a residence due to a call for assistance. Novotny was charged with strangulation 1st degree.
On 8/11/2024, Johnny O’Bryan (53) of Benton KY, was arrested when the vehicle that he was operating was stopped on Barge Island Rd in Marshall County. Mr. O’Bryan was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence 1st offense, possession of an open alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle and reckless driving.
On 08/13/2024, Austin Sporea (23) of Calvert City KY, was arrested when the vehicle he was operating was stopped on US 68 in Marshall County. Mr. Sporea was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of controlled substance 1st offense, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and other traffic offense.
On 08/13/2024, Corey Warford (29) of Hardin KY and Mark Brown (47) of Hardin KY were both arrested when deputies went to their residence to serve an active warrants on the men. While arresting Mr. Warford for the Failure to appear warrant issued out of Calloway district court, Mr. Warford was found to be in possession of Methamphetamine. Mr. Warford was also arrested for possession of a controlled substance 1st degree (methamphetamine) and possession of drug paraphernalia. Mr. Brown was arrested on his bench warrant for failure to pay fines issued out of Calloway District Court. Mr. Brown was also found to be in possession of a firearm that had the serial number removed. Brown was also arrested for possession of a defaced firearm. The investigation is continuing.
On 08/12/2024, Justina Edwards (37) of Benton KY, was arrested and served a criminal complaint warrant for the charges of promoting contraband 1st degree and trafficking in a controlled substance 2nd degree. Case was investigated by the Benton Police Department.
On 08/12/2024, Ryan Ellis (34) of Kevil KY, was arrested when deputies responded to a vehicle parked in the roadway on Oak Level Rd. Deputies made contact with the driver of the vehicle and identified him as Mr. Ellis. Mr. Ellis was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of substances 1st degree and possession of marijuana.
On 08/12/2024, Scott Anderson (35) of Benton KY, was arrested on a criminal complaint warrant for the charge of promoting contraband 1st degree and trafficking in a controlled substance. This case was investigated by the Benton Police Department.
On 08/12/2024, James D. Bailey (27) of Murray KY, was arrested when the vehicle was operating was stopped on US 641 N in Marshall County. Mr. Bailey was arrested and charged with driving on a dui suspended license and violation of conditions of release.
08/12.2024 The Sheriff’s Office is asking for any information involving the theft of a 2022 gray Jeep Compass from the Cambridge Shores area of Marshall County on 08/02/2024 at approximately 1:00pm. The Jeep was later recovered from Hawkeye Rd in Marshall County and video surveillance reveals one white male with a slender build, wearing a baseball cap, carrying a chainsaw, exit the Jeep and walk towards Park Ridge Rd in the Little Bear Community. On August 7th, 2024 Deputies arrested Bud Reynolds Tatum (52) of Benton, KY following a traffic stop where a search of his vehicle produced suspected methamphetamine, a firearm, hydrocodone and drug paraphernalia. Tatum was arrested and charged with Operating on a suspended or revoked operator’s license, Trafficking in a controlled substance 1st degree, 1st offense (methamphetamine) firearm enhanced, possession of a controlled substance, 1st degree, 1st offense Hydrocodone, firearm enhanced, drug paraphernalia – Buy/possess firearm enhanced, operating a motor vehicle under the influence 1st offense and other traffic charges.
