Watch for paint trucks and support vehicles
PADUCAH, Ky. (July 25, 2024) – A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) has started traffic paint striping along Interstate 24.
This morning a paint truck and support caravan worked along the eastbound lanes of Interstate 24 from the Ohio River Bridge through McCracken County to the Trigg-Christian County line near the 70 mile marker.
Over the next several days there will be multiple traffic paint crews working along the main line of I-24 in Trigg, Caldwell, Lyon, Marshall, and McCracken counties. Please use extra caution when you encounter these slow-moving caravans.
Motorists should be alert for paint trucks with multiple support vehicles and a police escort. The paint crews expect to be on the road during daylight hours whenever weather allows.
While the paint crews use fast-drying paint, motorists are reminded to avoid driving through fresh paint
Appropriate caution is required where equipment, flaggers, and maintenance personnel are along the roadway in close proximity to traffic flow.
