Safety enhancement project includes curb, gutter, and sidewalks
PADUCAH, Ky. (July 24, 2024) – A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) plans daytime closures along the west end of KY 1310 (Berger Road) in Paducah starting Monday, July 29, 2024.
The daytime closures are for a project to enhance pedestrian and driver safety along KY 1310 (Berger Road) from U.S. 45 (Lone Oak Road) extending eastward to the Oak Street intersection, a distance of just under 1/2 mile.
KY 1310 (Berger Road) will be closed from 7 a.m., CDT, to 4 p.m., each weekday to allow construction of curb, gutters and sidewalks.
The work may require a few night closures as the work progresses.
The roadway will be closed to through traffic when workers are present in the work zone. The contractor will maintain local access for residents and businesses, as well as access for emergency vehicles.
Harper Construction is the prime contractor working with assistance from the KYTC McCracken County Highway Maintenance Crew. The target completion date is September 15, 2024.
Estimated total funding is $634,795 with $300,000 in HUD Grant funds and $334,795 in State funds.
