The Enhanced Risk (3/5) is now extended south and east into the St. Louis metro area and southern Illinois for today into tonight. A line of severe thunderstorms will threaten damaging wind as strong as 80mph this afternoon in eastern Missouri and western Illinois. Large hail and a few brief tornadoes are also possible. Stay aware of any forecast updates and warnings, and be prepared to act when a warning is issued!
Dangerous heat is also expected through Thursday as heat indices nearing 115 which could bring heat-related illnesses.
Cooling centers in Farmington include City Hall, the Civic Center, Public Library, Fire Department, Police Department and Development Services – City Light & Water Office.
