July 30, 2024 Early Tuesday morning, Graves County Sheriff’s deputies were following up on a tip, concerning the whereabouts of 50-year-old Machelle D. Sanderson, who was wanted on outstanding warrants for passing counterfeit money at a Graves County business.
Deputies were given an address on Cherry Drive, as a location Sanderson was at. They also received additional information that illegal drug activity was occurring at that location.
Deputies were unable to get anyone to the door of the residence, or at a large outbuilding. A search warrant was obtained and served at the location at about 7:44AM.
Two men were located in the storage unit, and a few minutes later, Sanderson was also located hidden in the storage unit / outbuilding. A struggle ensued with Sanderson and the deputies before she could be taken into custody.
A search of the wooden outbuilding turned up a loaded 9mm semi-automatic handgun, numerous plastic baggies containing crystal Methamphetamine, scales, Marijuana, glass methamphetamine smoking pipes, pills, and other items.
