An investigation is underway after a body was found in the Mississippi River over the weekend. Carlisle County, Kentucky authorities said they received a report from the US Coast Guard about a possible body floating in the river. Several western Kentucky agencies assisted in retrieving the body which was turned over to the Missouri authorities after it was recovered in Missouri waterways. The Mississippi County Coroner says the victim is an adult female and hasn’t been identified. An autopsy is expected to be performed, but no foul play is expected.
