CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo (News First) – A body found in the Mississippi River over the weekend has been identified as a missing Cape Girardeau woman. Mississippi County Coroner Terry Parker has confirmed the body is that of 81-year-old Rose Mary Weaver with no foul play suspected.
On Sunday, August 4th, Carlisle County, Kentucky authorities received a report from the US Coast Guard about a possible body floating in the river. Several western Kentucky agencies assisted in retrieving the body which was turned over to the Missouri authorities after it was recovered in Missouri waterways. An Endangered Silver Advisory was issued after Weaver went missing at the end of July.
