VIBURNUM, Mo (News First) – School is back in session for a new year at Iron County C-4 in Viburnum. Today (Tuesday) is the first day for students. Superintendent Adam Portell tells Show-Me Live he expects enrollment to be right around the 350 mark. Once again, Tyler Coleman is the junior high and high school principal while Michelle Merseal is the elementary and middle school principal at Viburnum. Just a few new teachers have been added to the mix this year at Viburnum.
A big change for students this school year at C-4 is students will not be allowed to use their smartphones or other personal electronic devices during school hours. Viburnum continues to utilize the 4-day school week. Two other Iron County schools saw students return today (Tuesday), the Arcadia Valley and Belleview School Districts. South Iron students’ first day will be tomorrow (Wednesday).
