The largest town in Bollinger County will be without a police department starting Friday. A news release from the Bollinger County Sheriff’s Department says on Monday all members of the Marble Hill Police Department submitted letters of resignation to the city council during their meeting. In a letter to the citizens of Marble Hill from Police Chief Kristin Nenninger, the City putting constraints on the budget and cutting the police budget has led to her resignation along with the rest of the Marble Hill Police Department. In the meantime, the Bollinger County Sheriff’s Department says they hope to come to an agreement with city officials to allow the sheriff’s department to make sure a police presence is still in Marble Hill.
