PARK HILLS, Mo (News First) – A Potosi man is dead and another person seriously injured after a two vehicle accident in St. Francois County. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash took place on Highway 8 at Marler Road just outside of Leadwood when a 2018 BMW driven by 23-year-old Jadyn Dee was traveling eastbound on Highway 8 and began to attempt to pass several vehicles in the opposite lane. Dee apparently failed to see the 1997 Oldsmobile Regency driven by 86-year-old Leroy J. Rolens that was traveling westbound, heading directly towards Dee’s BMW. The two cars struck head-on. Rolens was pronounced dead at the scene by the St. Francois County coroner. Dee ended up with serious injuries and she was flown to Mercy Hospital in St. Louis for treatment.
