Well, we knew the cool weather wasn’t going to last. It sure was nice! I enjoyed it. I hope you did, as well.

Temperatures will begin to warm to near normal levels today. Mid to upper 80s. A few locations could hit 90 degrees.

The 90+ degree weather will take hold in earnest tomorrow. They will linger into most of next week. As a matter of fact, temperatures could hit the upper 90s early next week. Perhaps even 100 degrees at a few reporting stations.

The dry ground conditions will make for perfect heating.

The good news is that dew points won’t be crazy. Dew point is what makes it feel muggy. They will rise into the upper 60s to middle 70s. That will still be muggy, but not extreme.

Heat index values next week will likely range from 100 to 105 degrees. It will feel like summer, again. No worries, September is knocking, and we all know what that means. It is just a matter of time before cooler temperatures settle in.

Dry conditions are anticipated over the next six days. I am watching low end thunderstorm chances late next week. We need rain. Drought conditions are developing in many areas.
