MISSOURI (News First) – After dealing with drought conditions in Missouri for over a year in much of the state, conditions have now vastly improved. According to this week’s U.S.D.A. Drought Monitor Map of Missouri, there are only two areas of moderate drought and they are in western Missouri and also in southwestern Missouri. A portion of southeast Missouri is still experiencing abnormally dry conditions…all of Bollinger, Cape Girardeau, Madison and Scott counties, along with most of Reynolds and Wayne counties and the southern half of Iron County. The two bootheel counties, Dunklin and Pemiscot, also have abnormally dry conditions on their southern ends. The rest of southeast Missouri is experiencing normal conditions at the moment.
