FRANKFORT Ky. – Attorney General Russell Coleman slammed the Biden-Harris Administration’s decision to threaten 1,400 jobs in Kentucky over labor union politics. The federal government announced it would tear up a contract with private call center contractors that operate Medicare and other support services, including at two Kentucky locations in Winchester and London.
The Biden-Harris Administration reopened the contract process to give special favors to labor union allies. The move not only violates Congressional statutes governing labor relations, but it also ignores ‘right-to-work’ laws in states like Kentucky.
Attorney General Coleman joined 16 state attorneys general in a Virginia-led letter to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) insisting they reinstate the contract with the private call center contractor, Maximus.
“These hardworking Kentuckians and their families deserve better than the Biden-Harris Administration’s political agenda. This White House needs to keep its promise to Kentucky workers and Medicare recipients, instead of giving special favors to their political allies,” said Attorney General Coleman.
Attorney General Coleman is joined by Attorneys General from Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Iowa, Louisiana, Mississippi, Montana, New Hampshire, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, Texas, Utah and Virginia
