Another hot day for the region. Temperatures will rise into the 90s. I can’t rule out a few stations reporting 100 degrees. Use care if you must work outside.
School coaches will want to push ball practice off into the late evening hours or morning hours.
A few storms will be possible today and tonight over southeast Missouri, southern Illinois, and northwest Kentucky. There is an isolated severe risk. The concern would be downburst winds.
Chances of precipitation will be lower as you travel south in the region. Higher as you travel north.
A cold front will push into the region Friday through Sunday with additional shower and thunderstorm chances.
Somewhat cooler air will arrive with that cold front, as well. Temperatures will return to more seasonal levels with highs mostly in the eighties.
Stay cool out there!
