PARK HILLS, Mo (News First) – Two adjacent homes were destroyed early Wednesday morning (Aug 28th) in a three-alarm fire on Sixth Street in Park Hills. Firefighters were called to the scene around 7:30 am with the assistance of the Farmington, Big River, Desoto, Festus, and Jefferson R-7 fire departments. No one was home then, but both houses were a total loss.
The Missouri Fire Marshall is investigating the blaze.
Six students in two families attending Central R-3 schools were affected, according to counselor Stephanie Wicker. She says the district is accepting emergency donations such as clothing, school supplies, toiletries, and money to assist with immediate needs such as temporary housing and food. Donations can be dropped off at any Central school building during business hours.
