PADUCAH, Ky. — With Labor Day weekend approaching, the Paducah Police Department is warning drivers about the dangers of impaired driving. Over the past five years, 30% of all traffic fatalities nationwide have been alcohol-related. Additionally, driving under the influence of alcohol has been a factor in 25% of child fatalities in vehicular crashes.
In response to these statistics, the Paducah Police Department will participate in the “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign. Additional officers will be on patrol throughout the holiday weekend as part of an effort to keep motorists safe.
The department urges all drivers to stay sober behind the wheel and help prevent tragedies on the road. #DriveSoberOrGetPulledOver
