The Illinois Department of Transportation announced today that crack and joint sealing on Interstate 64 from the Clinton County line to 1 mile west of Covington Road in Washington County will require lane closures starting at 7 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 5, weather permitting. One lane will remain open during the work.
Motorists should expect delays and are encouraged to use alternate routes. Drivers are urged to reduce speed, stay alert for changing conditions, obey all construction signs, and avoid using mobile devices while approaching and traveling through the work zone.
The project is expected to be completed by mid-October.
