CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (News First) – On Tuesday in the federal courthouse in Cape Girardeau, a man from Wayne County admitted to producing images and videos containing child sexual abuse material for years. 59-year-old Kevin D. Carroll of Patterson pleaded guilty to sexual exploitation of a minor. He admitted he produced child sexual abuse material by taking pictures and videos of a child starting when that victim was only 8 years old.
Carroll said he took pictures and videos for about four years. An investigation began when deputies with the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department were called to Carroll’s home for a domestic dispute situation and that’s when law enforcement seized Carroll’s electronic devices containing the child porn. As part of Carroll’s plea, both sides will recommend 25 years in prison for Carroll’s sentencing. That is scheduled for December 11th.
