7 AM Thursday Update.

The remnants of Hurricane Francine are moving northward into our region. The 6 AM radar shows the rain in Arkansas and Tennessee. Slowly moving north northwest.
The system will continue to move northward today and tonight.
The bulk of the rain will arrive mid-afternoon into the overnight hours. Locally heavy downpours are possible.
I continue to forecast a widespread one to three inches of rain. Then, there will be bands of higher totals. The ground is hard from recent our recent drought. Most of the rain will soak into the ground.
If any banding develops, then there could be brief water issues in some areas. Ditches filled with water or water over roadways. Widespread flash flooding is not anticipated.

Some gusty winds will accompany this system. Wind gusts of 15 to 30 mph will be possible. Perhaps a bit higher over the Missouri Bootheel and northwest Tennessee.
The tornado threat remains very low, but perhaps not zero. I will keep an eye on it and send out app messages if necessary.
Rain showers will linger into Saturday and Sunday. Perhaps even Monday. With each passing day, the chances will be a bit lower.
