JACKSON, Mo. (News First) – The Jackson Police Department is investigating a potential threat that has been circulating on social media platforms. According to a Facebook post from the police department, they say they are working closely with the Jackson School District to keep the district informed and to ensure the safety of students and staff. The police department says they want to assure you these threats are being taken seriously. If you come across any posts or have information regarding these threats, report them immediately to Courage2Report, the Jackson school or contact the Jackson Police Department. 

The Jackson Police Department takes a zero-tolerance stance when it comes to internet threats related to schools and any threats made will be fully investigated. Additionally, Jackson police have been informed by Courage2Report about hoax threats circulating nationwide. While many of these threats are unfounded, Jackson police say they are committed to investigating every report.
