TORONTO (News First) – The St. Louis Cardinals were swept by the Blue Jays in a three-game weekend series in Toronto. On Sunday, Toronto edged the Cardinals 3-2. 13 games is the number of games St. Louis is out of first place in the division. With the Cards only having 13 games left in the season, that means one more St. Louis loss or Brewer win would mean elimination from the division race. The wild card playoff isn’t very promising looking for the Cardinals either. The Birds are 8 games out of the final wild card position. St. Louis will play their final homestand of the season starting Monday night when they play the first of four games against the Pittsburgh Pirates.
