The remnants of Francine are slowly weakening and winding down across our region.

Here is what the 8 am radar looked like. Most of the rain was over our southwestern counties. It was moving northwest and west (see the live radar links below).

The region experienced a widespread one to three inches of rain over the past several days. This was a four-day rain event (from Thursday to today). I will have some final rainfall maps later today and tomorrow.

A few locations did not receive an inch of rain, but that is by far the exception. Most received more than an inch. We are thankful for every drop.

We needed this rain. It does not solve all of our drought problems, but at least it helps. It does help with the fire issues in the short term, as well. We were experiencing numerous brush and field fires.

We need quite a bit more rain to end the drought. Unfortunately, that is not in the cards this coming week. It will be dry Monday through Saturday. Warm. Highs will top off in the eighties.

A few showers will remain in the region today. Mostly across southeast Missouri, the Bootheel of Missouri, and northwest Tennessee. Lower chances as you travel north and east.

See the live radar links below.
