JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (News First) – Near to above normal temperatures and near to below normal precipitation are forecast for most of the nation for next week, September 24th through the 30th. Meteorologist Brad Rippey says it should be decent weather for farmers who may be harvesting their crops.

“We are expecting the return of some pretty ideal harvest weather and weather for fieldwork as we head toward the end of September, most of the country is expecting near or above normal temperatures and near or below normal precipitation. The greatest likelihood of those warm conditions will extend from the Midwest into the Northeast. And then in terms of precipitation patterns, a couple of areas may be on the wet side, parts of the Northwest, mainly in Washington State. And then along the middle and southern Atlantic coast, a high likelihood of having wet weather there, some of that wetness could extend westward toward and into the Mississippi Delta region.”

Next week, the area will start with a slight chance for showers and thunderstorms on Monday with a high in the upper 70s. Tuesday will see partly cloudy skies with a high in the middle 70s.
