FESTUS, Mo. (News First) – A man from Festus received serious injuries in a one-vehicle accident Tuesday afternoon in Jefferson County. The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident happened south of Festus on northbound Route ‘C-C’, just south of South Buck Creek Road when a vehicle driven by 38-year-old Edward A. Luck crossed the centerline, ran off the west side of the road, the vehicle began sliding and overturned on its left side, throwing Luck from the vehicle. The vehicle continued to slide until it struck a utility pole guy wire. Luck was seriously injured and he was taken to Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City.
